Happy New Year!
OK I am over my wobble of yesterday. Of course I am not ready to need care in a home...not yet! So this morning on pulling back my curtains I found a white world outsde. Frost was common when I lived in the north but down here is most unsusual. Everything looked beautifull. Its very rare here so I stayed by the window for a little while until I noticed a car pulling in . My gardener had arrived! In the past I would have tried to send him home but failed each time. So I will get some mince pies in the oven....he will need warming up! Its been an odd Christmas with no church and no children but its OK. I can do this . I just hope its all back to normal next year. Church services are beautiful at Christmas and joining in with one on the TV or the ipad is not the same thing at all. As I type I am listening for the sound of machinery out there...but I should think my gardener will be in the shed which is right at the top of my very long garden. I hope he is anyway..I dont want him going home with frost bite. So I will invite him into the house soon and we will sit and talk whilst he demolishes anything edible on or around the table. In my solitary life a visit from anyone is welcome and my gardener keeps me up to date with village gossip..and grins at anything untoward. I sometimes wonder what he would do if he found me entertaining a chap. The entire village would know before the end of the morning I suspect..so maybe not! Well Happy New Year to you all. I hope its going to be a good one!
