It is dark!

It is dark outside this morning.I am up and dressed. Not sure why! Yesterday I got invited to go for my jab. Sadly I had to decline. It would have meant my driving about twenty five miles to find the right place. Just now this is not a good idea. I am fine driving locally along roads I know well but this involved my leaving the Roseland to try to find the right place! I had no confidence in my ability to get there safely. So I said no. As I am staying at home for the foreseeable future this seemed the safest way. I did ring my doctor later to let him know that I had refused the vaccine and more importantly the reason for it. I am not anti vaccine...I just dont think my driving all that way is a good idea Especially in this gloom. However its good that the opportunity is there..Cornwall hasnt been completely left out. The lack of light outside is very gloomy...and I am hoping for something better later to get me moving. Listening to the traffic outside I realise that not much is moving at all. Here in our little Roseland bubble we are spared the usual visitors. Perhaps it will get busier when it gets lighter. All the lights in the house are on...it really is very gloomy indeed and its past nine oclock! Perhaps the end of the world really is nigh!

Hopefully when the other vaccines with less rigorous transport and storage requirements come out, your surgery will be able to catch up with you and others unable to travel.
We are lucky that our surgery is both within a short walk and issuing jabs. Not down to our risk group yet but fingers crossed...God keep us all in His hand

Hello Jean. Hopefully your local surgery will have vaccine for you before too long and you will be able to access it that way.
But good to know you are on someone’s list and have definitely not been forgotten!
Take care

You made a wise decision. Driving that far isn't sensible, but it shows the divide between urban and rural. We had to go two miles with plenty of parking available walkable normally, but following Jen's stroke, that distance would be to much for her. She can now walk upto a mile, one of her goals, but over doing it wouldn't be wise.

I hope that your local GP will offer you a local opportunity, as the Oxford vaccine is easier to store and deliver. Or, he or she might offer to come to you as some GP's are doing for those sheltering here. A district nurse takes the vaccine to them.

And as you say, you are pretty safe staying put. Prayers for you ongoing.
