New Jumper!

Sorry chaps... this morning I am talking about clothes. Not fashion but what to wear in a lockdown. We are well into it now so I have had plenty of time to consider this. It doesnt matter really because on most days there is no one who will see what I am wearing anyway. But it has started to feel like a uniform. On most days I could stay in my nightie all day and no one would know. But self respect means that I have to look decent. ....just in case. So my daily wear has settled down now. I wear a thick wool skirt....with a polo neck jumper. Several different colours means that I dont have to think much...I just get them out before I go for my shower. My jumpers are in a drawer on their own and I am working my way through them day by day. They are in pastel shades and I am comfortable in my choice most times. So yesterday I had a nice surprise..... the pink polo neck I pulled out had never been worn before I realised. It was a new jumper I had forgotten all about. So of course I couldnt wear it ...it had to saved for best! The absurdity of this decision struck me later...Best? There is no way anyone is going to see me what ever I wear. But I did put it back into the drawer and chose another one to wear yesterday. At some stage I will sort through my clothes...It really doesnt matter what I wear most of the time.......no one will see it...its just how I feel when I catch a glimpse of myself in the various mirrors around the house...But finding a new unworn jumper gave me a lift yesterday...until I realised that there is no point in keeping it for best...Best no longer exists in this strange new world...but I might save it for Sunday....old habits are hard to shed!

I think that Sunday best is a thing of the past. Although I wear trousers (not jeans) and a shirt and tie and causal jacket, not that it matters that I am now robed most Sundays, so I could actually be in the buff, and no body would guess unless the ankles gave it away.

Once church opens again, I will have an occasional Sunday off, where I will wear a Suit just to prove that I have one.

Good evening Jean. You made me smile about your ‘lockdown uniform’ 😊
I also have a rotating ‘wardrobe’ of polo necks, but the other month I decided to order two new ones online! And guess what? I found myself not wearing one of them as I thought I would keep it for best!!
I mean, seriously!! I’m not going anywhere at the moment. 🤣🤣
It has now been absorbed into the rotation 😊😊

We don’t change do we? Yesterday a new dress arrived for me I saw it on line and bought it.have to say it’s very nice. I was going to my sons for lunch but it’s been cancelled so it will sit in my wardrobe until when ever and I will wear my jeans and big jumper as usual today.
I have no regrets about buying my lovely new dress it can wait for me xx
