Not Friday!

Oh dear. I am feeling very cross with myself. I got this morning wrong. Waking fairly early I decided that as it was Friday my gardener would be arriving at about eight oclock. So up i got, dressed and went downstairs. My gardeners car was not in its usual position so I looked elsewhere because he is never late. Making a coffee I waited. After about half an hour I decided that he must be ill. No other explanation occurred to me. I wondered what I could do for him if he was and looked for his phone number. During this time I went to the place where he puts his car to check. No, it wasnt there so feeling alarmed I made a coffee and sitting down to drink it I switched on the radio. And there it was, the explanation ....It turned out not to be Friday at all. And my gardener wasnt ill or worse...I had just got the day wrong. He is not coming till this afternoon. I checked. And yes I had enough cash to pay him when he arrives. So all this anxiety was just daft! Self inflicted obviously. So I have had my coffee whilst listening to the radio wondering if I am finally going balmy. If I am so be it...sipping my coffee , listening to the radio I am clearly not the only one. But I am not looking for any more explanations. But I am very glad to find that Joe Biden really is the new USA president! Hooray!

Good morning Jean, be assured you are not the only one to be confused about which day it is! I spent much of yesterday thinking it was Thursday!!! 😊
Hope the rest of today goes well - whatever it is called!!!

I think many of us get confused about what day of the week it is. Our usual routines and timetables have been disrupted and when we are stuck at home in lockdown every day can seem like any other.

You are not going barmy, it feels like a Friday, but isn't. I only really knew which day it was after an early rise today, and realised that I was preaching today at our 10 am streamed service, and had better get a move on and finish the sermon languishing on my computer word processor.

The good thing about it was that last minute endings tend to be brief, to the point with a short pithy summary and an Amen.
