Rubbish!

I never thought I would be blogging about the rubbish vollection here but needs must! I used to have a full compliment of bins of various kinds. I have lived here longer than my neighbours and for years I put my bins out to be collected on Monday morning. it had been Davids job but now of course its mine. Slowly over the last months my bins have been disappearing. I am left with just one now. There used to be various sorts for different things. My old bin is much smaller than the rest but until recently its been fine. Empty bottles , paper and cardboard went into plastic boxes. I had two of these.... now I have none. So what do I do now? I will ring the number of the local autbority this morning. I am prepared to pay for some new ones but they would get pinched too I suppose. A neighbour has painted his name on his boxes which is sensible so that might be the answer if I can get hold of some paint..... Who ever would have thought I could spend so much time and energy on this problem? I certainly wouldnt but here we are..Monday morning when the collection occurs. I have been told that they can make special rules for us ancient ones...we shall see.. so this morning I shall see if any more things have been pinched...arghhhh!

If your house has a number you can buy large peel-off and stick-on numbers from most stationers. If not, you can also buy large letters and putting them on the front of the bin makes them easy to identify.
Not a guarantee they won't also be stolen, but at least it makes it easier to spot them if your thief is local.
When I had a bin stolen many years ago the local authority simply replaced it.
Good luck.
