Staying at Home!
It would be wrong to say that I am fed up. I am not. I am fine most of the time...I talk to old friends , I meet new ones...life goes on in this small corner of the world. I am told that Cornwall is fully booked up this summer. So its an ill wind that blows no one any good. I do understand why people want to come here...before I lived here visiting several times a year was the best possible holiday I could think of. Me and the children arrived at the beginning of the long summer break and only went home a day before school started.... so I have sympathy for everyone intent on finding a safe place to visit. But they are regarded with huge suspicion by many locals. Often in the summer I have been very glad of the packed churches which were a by product of the visitors. Especially the number of sailors who turned up for the eight am service wanting a good start to a day spent at sea. It is all different now I am afraid. But the shops are busy as are the pubs I am told. I tend to stay put here at home. It is safer this way. But people do drop by. I am usually glad to see them but get alarmed if they start coughing too often. So I go day by day...glad to see old friends but relieved to have quiet days spent alone in safety! Horror stories reach me of entire hotels going down with the virus. My decision to stay put seems to be working fine for me.....so far! But I have never seen so much television in my life! A whole new world is opening up for me!

Good morning Jean. I’m sorry to say I have never been to Cornwall! I tend to head north for my holidays and love Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Scotland! I did make it to Devon once though. 😊😊
It is good to know that if all goes well the hotels, pubs etc will be able to open again this summer. Currently they are still closed. If you haven’t caught up with the Prime Minister’s ‘Roadmap’ regarding coming out of this current lockdown it may make interesting and informative reading for you!
Hope you have a good day
I am wondering how the shops and pubs are busy in a national lockdown, that means they are breaking the law.
Being miserable or depressed seems to be increasing nationally and it appears that huge resources and being pushed into Mental Health Services and Well being, particularly for the younger generations, school pupils in particular.
I hope that you are able to keep in touch with those people who are special for you, friends or extended family. And of course us loyal ones who come to read your blog and to share your ups and downs each day.
It is entirely possible that I have got that bit wrong....I don't actually know if the pubs are busy...it was a presumption which may not be true. But I do know the shop is busy...there's only one, after all.
