To sleep?
I went to bed feeling a bit miserable last night...this is unusual for me but several things had gone wrong during the day and my spirits were low....very low.... and then I sat up and reached for the phone. I admit my intention was to have a critical conversation with an old friend...but it developed into something quite different. We went down memory lane after a few acrimonious words and were soon remembering better times and laughing. We recalled mutual friends and soon the conversation turned into a collection of daft storys which we both enjoyed. Settling down to go to sleep afterwards I realised that that was what was missing from my solitary life. Laughter! Giggling under the covers at various friends antics...Gosh I felt better afterwards.. So from now on if I ring anyone late at night it will be to be jokey and not to complain but to laugh with friends. The feeling of friendship is still with me this morning after a good nights sleep. So this is my recommendation for today. If you are letting everything get to you, find a friend to laugh with, a good giggle can do wonders. And if you can find a glass of something warming to go with it a good nights sleep in garanteed. Well its worth a try!

Good evening Jean.
You can’t beat a good giggle with a friend !!
Keep chuckling 😊😊😊
Good advice, probably the best when you have a lot of friends who are happy to be disturbed at night. We have some of those, but as we are two together, we have a lot of banter and laughter, enough to keep the black dog from the door.
It definitely helps to speak to others and yesterday evening, we had the first episode of our parish Lent Course, online, a small group to explore together the scripture and prayer and to discuss our experiences with each other, affirming and lovely. Perhaps I should send you the link so that you can joine us on zoom next week?
