Normal!
Well it did not all go back to normal yesterday. Its only partly normal! All the steel barriers are still in place! Up very early this strange Sunday morning I have walked round everything outside with some hope surfacing....
Yesterday they took down most of the stuff but left the bigger bits in situ! I am told they will go tomorrow....early Monday! I have taken to walking around my garden muttering prayers along the lines of . "Please let it all go back to normal soon" I dont specify what normal might be. I will know it when I see it! In my mind I have put in place the fact that the builder is coming tomorrow morning. And also in my mind is the knowledge that he will expect a cheque for all the work done. But no money will change hands till everything really is back to normal! I think I have communicated this to him. I hope so because I mean it!
I dont remember feeling like this on any other occasion and I dont really know what has made the difference but I am getting old! I need normal! I have listened to the hymns and prayers on the radio this morning and once again am very grateful for them since we are still not actually going to church yet! So going to a service on Sunday morning has been supplanted by listening to one on the radio! It is better than nothing I suppose! But another plea to get everything back to normal soon wouldnt go amiss!

I do so hope that everything gets back to normal for you very soon.
However, I also hope that you keep your word, on not paying the
builder the final payment, until you are completely satisfied that the
repairs are completed and everything that needs to be, has been taken
away. I always remember my late husband saying, check that the job is completed before you hand over the final payment for any repairs.
Good luck and stay safe.
Hello Jean.
I hope normality is indeed nearly with you.
I agree with Emmy. Make sure you are happy the work is completed to your satisfaction before the final payment.
Take care
I am not sure everything can go back to normal, at least the normal we had before the virus. It seems that like the flue, the virus will be like the poor, always with us.
We can hope and pray for "some sort of normal" but it is unlikely to be a normal like it was before. I would settle for a normal that allows the resumption of a full range of services and events in our church, because without them, we won't survive financially.
I pray for you Jean as you have coped with so much in the past few months, and have been so unsettled. I hope that at least this whole episode can be put behind you and allow you to resume whatever new normal you need and want.
