Safe or Dodgy?
I am getting used to not going to church! There is a sentence I never thought to utter! I have joined in with the one on the radio and that will do...for the moment. Ive been out to admire my newly tested car and considered driving over to Portscatho. But probably not! Safe life is dull but just now dull is good. Today gives me time to consider the stuff an earnest young man left with me last week.A glossy brochure says it is Senergy Direct. I was too busy last wekk to look at it and this week I fear I am thinking the worst! It promises Trust, Confidence and Peace of Mind .... so far its not working! The only thing that worries me is why on earth I have been targeted! Hopefully some of the readers of this blog will get in touch if they know anything! Please feel free!

This company is an energy supplier who specialise in supplying energy systems from Solar power, ground energy pumps and battery storage units.
Their website says that they have hundreds of positive reviews, but they only have nine positive reviews, repeated on a loop. And four on google.
On other review sites its a different story. One review I saw said this:
"We had a solar panel for 14 years,but it started to go wrong. We contacted Synergy Direct and bought a Magic Box thermodynamic water heating system from them. It failed this year within the guarantee period and we have found that these Magic Box suppliers went into liquidation last May. All over the country we find that people have been conned out of thousands of pounds for these systems. Synergy Direct assured us that the system was reliable. We are pensioners who have paid out 4K for this. Synergy Direct are not responding to our calls".
another review on a different site was:
"I have solars and received several calls from SD Senergy Direct explaining their service to review Solar inverters. I eventually accommodated a visit on 10/04 and was assured the person attending would have full PPE. The man arrived promptly with no mask or COVID protocols. He came into the house, loft space and at no point observed any of the government protocols. He said he was then going on to another house visit. This irresponsibility is why our country has been so severely affected. He asked if id like him to remove his shoes on entering my home - well surely you don't even need to ask. This wasn't anything more than a cold sales call and a sales pitch to upgrade a working Inverter.Why on all fronts??I should not have fallen for it and with hindsight should declined the visit I will not use this Company due to their serious and very obvious Health failings"
The glossy brochure is a hook, I would not employ them. I would ask the Local Trading Standards if they are trustworthy or have a good commercial reputation.
I haven't looked at the various Regulators sites for the company name to see if they have had any complaints or penalties, but I would be very careful in using their services. I do hope this is helpful.

Following up on Companies House. The Company was dissolved in Dec 2018. The directors listed on their website all resigned prior to that date. Whoever is trading under that name with a pretty good website are not doing it legally.
Avoid like the plague would be my advice. And don't let them visit again.
Further investigation give the information that the brochure title is a trading name of another company called ECO BUILD PARTNERS LTD formed and registered on 7 Apr 2016.
This company had named directors and has a charge against it by LLoyds Bank PlC laid on 5 Apr 2021, which has not be paid to date.
Three finance companies are registered as having a substantial controlling interest, which means shares have been sold externally to some different financial investors, presumably to help the company growth. It means that 75% of shares now have control of the company, with directors holding 25% themselves.
That is all that I can find.
