Going away?
It really is wonderful how many old friends get in touch after reading this blog. I am touched by the people who still read it daily! I do have one friend who doesnt look at it most days but then goes in and does a week! I have made my coffee too strong this morning...I could be dancing around my housework soon! I am not really enjoying this over strong taste but I cant waste any of it...so down it goes! Getting out of bed was hard this morning...I could still be asleep so the coffee needs to be strong to keep me awake! I have looked at my email whilst drinking the coffee and found one from the hotel in Madeira that me and David used to go to most years. Its the first time I have heard from them for at least a year...but I will not be going again...the time when I could get on a plane to fly to a hotel abroad has long gone.....especially as I would be going on my own...The memories are still there...and very precious of the weeks after our wedding when everything was gloriously new! I have to let this go now...specially after looking at the cost! It seems to have gone up! The whole notion of going on holiday now is strange since I am on permanent holiday here in Cornwall. At least thats how it still feels. Thank goodness...no need to fly any where or even get on a coach! Looking out I see the ships coming in and out of Falmouth...I dont need to travel anywhere...thank goodness! It all comes to me!

I can understand your feelings about not wanting to travel, when you live in the beautiful country of Cornwall. As you describe it, holiday is on your doorstep.
We would like to visit Guernsey the only channel Isle we have not visited. We would fly, because Jen won't be fit enough for a long car and Ferry journey. Perhaps next year, after her retirement (if she actually does retire). Another place I would like to visit is Lindisfarne, but not sure Jen agrees.
We might try a long weekend later this year, once things quieten down. Broadstairs or Whitstable in Kent might be on the cards.
We haven't had a holiday abroad in 7 years, the last one was Madeira ourselves. We loved it there, but not sure we'd like to go back just yet.
