Safe!
This glorious weather continues...Ive been around the garden and its wonderfully warm out there. Everything is growing and flowering..it is all truly beautiful. And yet.....Its not quite the same. Cornwall filled early with those people who normally went abroad but chose to stay here instead this year. I think they must have gone home again now because its very quiet indeed out there. I havnt been far at all...and have no desire to do so. With a full fridge and enough to eat just now staying home seems the best idea! Sorry if this is boring but Life doesnt feel boring...it just feels safe. I am grateful for that...as I am thankful that its gone back to being very quiet. Its possible to believe the last months were all a bad dream...but the news tells me different. I dont know now long it will be before this starts to feel normal too...but just now the peace and quiet are a joy. I have no desire to go for a swim which I would have done in previous years. I dont need to get the car out though I do start it every few days. If all this sounds boring I am sorry...for me it just feels safe. And thats great. I hope it continues!

Good morning Jean. Safe is good. Safe is sensible. Safe is not boring.
Pleased to read you still have lovely weather. We are supposed to also get some sunshine over here the next few days 😊☀️😊
I hope you have managed to get all your food delivery stowed away. My worst mistake so far with online ordering was with fresh root ginger! Instead of one small piece I ended up with a big bag full!!! It’s surprising how many dishes you can make with ginger as an ingredient 🤣🤣
Enjoy your peaceful day
I am so sorry to hear that... I hope it all gets sorted out quickly. In the meanwhile all I can do is send prayers in your direction...
Being safe is good, but our safe doesn't mean that others are, as Marleen shows. There has been severe flooding in Europe, with many deaths in places. In the USA extreme heat is causing uncontrollable wild fires and in many places the virus still rages out of control, even here in the UK it is spreading, while the government relaxes the restrictions which they say is not reversible. I note though, that sneaked through with all of their so called good news of freedom is a residual power to allow local authorities to impose local lockdowns if the virus increases in their areas. Local democracy now has to carry the can for government indecision and prevarication.
We are being very cautious. Jen has to go to work, but it is door to door with me as her driver. She is in a covid secure work place, where daily testing for staff is in place.
It feels safe if you continue to stay safe, wear a face covering, sanitise regularly and avoid crowded spaces, which includes for us, pubs, cafes and public places. Even parks where people seem to think is OK to get close because it is in the open air.
Personal responsibility is apparently the mantra from government, but there are many people who can't seem to take responsibility for themselves, let alone others.
So, being safe is good.
