Busy!
It is glorious outside. I have walked the garden and see signs of renewel and growth evident all around me. The news is less so. Afghan evacuations have brought us sharply up to face reality. We are living in a dangerous world despite the glorious weather. Here in rural Cornwall nothing much seems any different. We are full of visitors but thats normal too. It is still August! I assume schools will start up again in September so many of our visitors will be going home soon. News headlines locally tell of too many people arriving with no where to stay booked..... this is not a good idea. Most of the hotels are full I am told. So alot of people wih a couple of spare rooms are now letting them. All of this just keeps me at home. I know I am fortunate but I have learned not to take it for granted! I am happy for the odd visitor to arrive looking for places to stay but unless I know the person on my door step I will not open up my house to visitors. Some have in the village I am told and so far it all seems to be going well. I dont know how long this wonderful weather will last but just now it feels more like the south of France! Since my brush with skin cancer a few years ago I dont sit for too long in the sun now. I am happy to apply the tan out of a bottle! Looking around my office I see the need to do some tidying! I had better get started!

Today is as you describe, and I would be outside if I wasn't trying to cure a water leak in the Kitchen. I await a plumber but as he isn't responding to the phone, he might be on holiday.
I am not trained for this so have bodged the leak a little, but not sure whether it will hold. We shall see.
Good luck with that! Water gets everywhere given half a chance!
