The Spring in the kitchen!

I got up his morning to find I had had a bit of a flood! It has obviously been raining most of the night! Its not a bad flood...I have have had it several times before. When I first moved into this house panic started at the sight of the water coming through the back door. I am used to it now. No panic ...just a deep sigh. After the first couple of times I got a man in! This was something I needed help with! At least two men turned up to look at it. One went away shaking his head. The other realised what the problem was. "You are built on a spring." Those words have stayed with me and they seem to be true. By the back door water comes up with gusto if its raining. I have learned to live with it.... because there is nothing to be done. About once a year it rains hard enough to activate an ancient spring. It bubbles up cheerfully by my back door and comes in eventually. Fortunately There are a couple of steps up into the kitchen which keeps the water in its place! So I just wait for it to stop raining when it all goes down again. Now I am used to it I can live with it. I am assured that the spring will remain no matter what I do..and its really not a problem. Ive got used to it now. Its never actually got into the kitchen..it just looks scary.And it only happens occasionally...When it first happened it was quite frightening ... now I have learned to live with it and it only happens occasionally. Most rainy days dont activate it. Maybe every couple of years there is a problem but not much of one.....It comes up and then goes away again. Simple!
