May she go?

Mrs May will not recover easily from her appalling speech this week.
It was clearly not entirely her fault...mostly...but it was a disaster. The speech writer using a speech from "The west wing" as an uplifting part of her address clearly did not understand the audience. We spotted it!
The whole thing is wrapped up in the Brexit vote which caused David Cameron to resign. Sensible man!
Teresa May was never supposed to be our Prime Minister. That she took on the job is a tribute to her courage and determination. Having got the job she then made mistakes, most of which are understandable. But....
Calling an election , making Boris foreign secretary, redeeming Gove....
All signs that this strong woman desperately wanted the job and having got it decided to keep it no matter what.
The sudden election this summer was a major mistake...the attempt to give her a resounding vote of confidence to strengthen her position in the Brexit negotiations was her first major failure, especially when she refused to join in the debates. She gave Mr Corbyn the chance to shine...and he did compared to her.
Her determination to carry on now reveals a very sad weakness...
Of course she wants to show her determination to get us out of Europe well.
But her choice of ministers was her first major mistake...how much of those choices was influenced by Mr Murdoch we will never know for sure...but we do wonder about her choices...Gove? Boris?
No wonder there is discussion about her future...
If she was sensible she would quit now...but her own vision of herself as the woman to lead us through the Brexit mess will keep her in place I think.....if her party will let her!

I think that Mrs May has been let down badly by her party and advisers. Those who designed the election manifesto were outrageously out of touch with the core sentiment of the electorate and Jeremy Corbyn profited on the back of an appalling Tory campaign with lies and speculative promises, which he has now back tracked on.

All politics is a gamble and the election was one that she lost. Her disloyal followers have now come out in strength - and they should all be sent to the tower.
