I can't remember where those words come from but they have seldom felt more appropriate.
Climate change, massive hurricanes, islands left without power, clean water and food...
Democratic action under fire! The scenes from Spain yesterday of a government trying to prevent people voting!
Words of war, threats, angry rebuffs fill the airwaves and this is not a world that is comfortable to live in.
It would be all too easy to bed down in the glorious part of the world I live in right now...
My immediate world is glory all around me but this no longer feels totally safe having seen the horror on the other side of the world.
Mr Trump seems bored with the devastation in Porte Rica and complained from his gold club that they wanted everything done for them....
Of course they do...they are Americans who need help! They have lost everything!
Pictures of the damage in Syria, various political rallies around the world, people claiming their right to democratic action.
Brexit is bringing its own form of chaos in this country...
I watched a program about our foreign secretary last night which only added to the gloom....
I can't remember a time like this before...but there's plenty to pray for...

Having written that this morning I am shocked by the news from Las Vegas. That's a lot of dead and wounded from one lone gun man with time to reload his gun between shots.... my prayers are all I have to offer...please join me today .....to bring some comfort to the survivors.
How long before we stop being shocked by news of Mass killings by lone shooters in the USA, which seem to happen so regularly, while the Gun lobby seem to be the power in the Land. Generations of people fighting them have been defeated by that Lobby.
It seems that we can expect these outrages to occur so regularly that they become the norm.
