Yesterday I had an appointment with my doctor.....nothing important, routine checks on things...
I drove in the early morning into the quiet little seaside resort. In the summer it is packed but now it's blessedly quiet. I parked easily.
My quick chat with the doctor left me free for a wander.
The tide was in. Lots of seaweed had been left at the side of the road and it was beautiful.
I walked along the stretch of road by the sea wall up to its medieval castle and realised once again how glorious it is.
All the people I met spoke to me....we all knew each other...
It was a very pleasant stroll....and I came home knowing that even on a grey windy morning it is still the most beautiful place in the world...
I am a very lucky woman in so many ways
When my first husband David dropped dead here all those years ago...I knew then that the compassion and goodwill from everyone was what carried me through an appalling period...
Now I value them all and am very fortunate to be able to minister to those who looked after me when I needed it!
Thank you God.
