Profit for the already rich.

Over the last days I have been reminded as to why I am a sort of Christian left winger .
The unbelievable facts emerging about first the rescue and then the death throes of Carrillion are revealing in the extreme.
It should have been obvious after they had warned us about their lack of profits that this company was destined to fail. And yet our government poured money into trying to save it.
I wish I could believe that May was acting on behalf of the workers who stood to lose their jobs if it failed. But I don’t.
Too many examples are now evident that attempts to privatise companies have been going on throughout the last years.
I will never forget the day when the ambulance sent to get my husband to the hospital turned up with two young girls in charge.
Their efforts to get him down the stairs and into the ambulance were extraordinary. None of us could believe it. Previously the men had struggled but the girls were simply not strong enough. What had happened? The ambulance company had been sold. And the new lot were still learning their trade!
Lots of examples of stupid privatisations exist. And this latest building farce is another example.
I know that the unions overdid their power way back last century...but what has happened since then is simply appalling.
Mrs May has now an awful lot to answer for. Handing out jobs , giving the already rich more money to play with, not seeing that those who will suffer the consequences of losing their jobs will be the already poor...the Just about managing will gradually slide even further down the poverty trap.
I fear for all of those facing the loss of their jobs and struggling to keep their families warm this winter.
There is no easy fix now I think...the damage has been done but in the aftermath I pray that this need to privatise everything is tempered with common sense and basic humanity. Lord hear my prayer.

Sometimes I despair of our politicians, those of any flavour seem set on making money and becoming talking head on TV or social media, putting their point across from their well heeled profession.

Even Jeremy Corbyn who used to look and dress like a rough sleeper has adopted the smooth, well groomed style and an upmarket set of suits to be presentable, even his beard looks like a designer trim.

Perhaps we get what we vote for in terms of politicians lining their own pockets and favouring their friends and allies. See how Momentum has got itself onto the NEC and is now talking about the deslection of Labour MP's who don't fawn on Mr Corbyn.

There is no honesty in that, just mean minded, left wing extremists, who wan't to feather their own nests, while the poor and disenfranchised will continue to be down trodden.

We need a Green revolution and a reality check - there we will find real, old fashioned socialist policies from people who genuinely believe in the environmental damage we are doing and wanting to do something about it.

They are the true party of the people, but being radical these days is a dirty word to so many - perhaps soon, some will see sense and elect enough to make a difference.
