GOP?

Reading from the Washington Post yesterday I saw several references to the GOP.
I got that it referred to the Republican Party but wondered what the initials stood for. So I googled it.
It actually stands for Grand Old Party.
I’m not sure if anyone in this Trump era would really endorse that description.
I do wonder what on earth the older members of that party make of the present way of government.
So much odd news is coming from America right now that it’s hard to try to understand how Mr Trump continues to hold office despite constant calls for him to go. The poor man even had to undergo a medical which included an intelligence test. He passed with flying colours..
I have no idea if he was helped into office by his good friend Putin or not but we have never seen such an unlikely scenario as appears every day.
Trump seems devoted to getting rid of the FBI .
This would suggest he has something to hide but what the grand old party makes of all this, his attempts to sack anyone not willing to toe the party line , his constant crowing about how great he is...
It seems unlikely that the GOP will recover at any time soon.
The silence coming from the Democrats on the Russian issue might suggest that their hands are not clean either...
It’s a strange way to run a country but it is guaranteed to hold our attention...
Who will be the next ex government minister to go?
From reports it seems that Trump is finding some resistance to sacking any more FBI officials...
We shall see in due course....but it does make for riveting reading...

I believe that the declassified Memo from the Republican Party is deeply flawed. The Democrats dispute it's contents, particularly the missing bits which contradict the findings of the GOP analysis.
Trump says that people should be "Deeply Ashamed" this is rich coming from a bully and confirmed liar, who patently, has no shame about anything that he has done in the past or even since he became President.

I avoid reading about him, but you can't ignore his dangerous pronouncements day in and day out.

We are closer to a World War than at any time since the Cuban Missile Crisis of the early 60's.
