Purple Stole.

Yesterday was a good day. The sun shone and my car behaved itself. It now has a well charged battery. The trip to the Crem takes about forty five minutes from here.
The funeral went well. The family who turned up had travelled up from Essex..we had a lot to talk about.
I arrived home and slept before going out to supper with a friend.
So it was quite late before I unpacked my bag..., laying out the cassock and surplice with care.
My stole was not there.
I can only have left it in the small office at the back of the crem.
It was a newish silk purple stole. I love it.
When I was training for this job I bought all the correct stoles for all the various church seasons. They were very expensive and I used the dividends from my old Nat West shares, slowly acquiring the entire set.
I am hoping that when I ring the crematorium this morning they will have it safe.
I am cross with myself....I am becoming very forgetful...it’s just one more nudge from above..
But as we are in Lent I do need it.
So I am giving  myself a good talking to. . I clearly need it!
