Who wants a blog talking about sewage problems? I have avoided this subject for months now but finally I have had enough!
This quiet place has four homes on what was a farm not all that long ago.
Two of us share a septic tank.
Until recently there have been no problems of any sort and I offered to pay my half for the honey wagon to come and empty it as and when it was needed.
This has worked fine until my new next door neighbour decided to dig up the soil pipes in order to attach the caravan in his garden to it!
I have pictures of this undertaking.
Since then blockages have occurred on a fairly regular basis. I have learned how to use rods etc in order to clear it....but....
It’s not a problem that’s going away any time soon.
If I need to get a plumber in I have warned my neighbours that they will get the bill.
I live here alone...there are several people living next door....
I know I should get advice. I am aware that several attempts at getting planning permission to build various things have been turned down by various planning bodies because this is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Mostly I am content to make no waves...because it’s not really a problem that bothers me much....but when I’m gone from here if a family buy my house their problems might be much more serious...
I know by now that all the advice will be to tell me to do something , anything but I can’t find it in my heart to see a solicitor!
I just want a quiet life....hopefully without rods .....arghhhhh!

Since writing that the garden next door has filled up, mostly with children. I am never going to object to the sound of children playing....but I am little worried about what might happen if they are using the loos!
