I tried to post a blog with a photograph in it this morning but it just wouldn’t go...I have no idea why . It’s not the first time but it was a beautiful picture of St Mawes in full sunshine.
The new regulations about privacy have succeeded in keeping my mail box free from much unwanted stuff but some still get through. This morning for instance there is another missive exhorting me to take a test to get a gun licence!
A demand for money yesterday made me cross.
A charity I already contributed to sent me an urgent mail to support a very worthy cause.
I cancelled the direct debit and sent them an email to tell them what I’d done and why.
They replied immediately which did impress me but my cancellation stands. I will find another similar cause to support.
I hope this somehow bears fruit. That bombarding those who already contribute with extra requests for urgent money constantly might have the opposite effect.
The number of begging emails every day are proliferating yet again...and of course I want to help, to try to make things better for those in pain or suffering loss but there are limits and heartfelt cries for more money are just not going to succeed and I feel mean even typing that!
I still support David’s charities as well as mine and the replies from his old college are heartwarming . They tell me what the money will be spent on and never demand more...
Other charities please note!
