Living with heat.

I am staying very quiet during this period. . I’m only going out into my garden and haven’t travelled further afield very often.
So yesterday I remembered what I used to do in Essex during periods of prolonged heat.
I drove a Discovery then having two golden retrievers to transport from Cornwall to Essex and back.
At home in Essex I met several friends and their dogs every afternoon for a stroll. And when the heat became unbearable I used to load them into the Disco and take them all out for a run.
It had very efficient air conditioning. Blasts of cold air took the temperature down very efficiently and the dogs loved it as did us humans. So the afternoon walk turned into a drive on very hot occasions.
I do have air conditioning in my Mercedes but it’s never been used here....without a pack of dogs to keep cool...
Tomorrow though I may give it a try...when I have an appointment in the next village...
Mostly though I have stayed quietly at home so far...this old farmhouse with its thick walls isn’t over hot...it’s bearable....
I am told the beaches are busy...but lacking a child or a dog to take out I am very happy to stay at home....
It’s not yet the season of mellow fruitfulness....but the Autumnal tones are suggesting that it’s not far away...and then I remember that’s not even August yet!
Alright ....I can do this...especially as I have no other person or dog to be responsible for. Thank you God!
