Looking forward today to going to the village I used to live in...right at the end of the lugger, sitting almost on the sea wall is a lovely little chapel.
Before I came to live here it was my preferred place of worship on the Roseland.
To walk down the hill with the glorious view of the sea surrounding Gull Rock was simply bliss.
I always went to their carol services if I was here at Christmas. The singing was wonderful.
I have since then done a very odd wedding there in tandem with the registrar who was needed to make it legal.
I am part of this mornings congregation . It is Sea Sunday.
Once a year we remember those who have come to grief at sea and pray for the safety of those whose lives are spent at the mercy of wind and storm.
"Let your anchor hold in the storms of life." is the hymn of choice sung with gusto! It’s a pity that it’s only once a year that we sing it.
I shall enjoy meeting old friends, it’s the first time I’ve ventured forth to church since I came to grief and got suspended from ministry after missing a Safeguarding day in favour of presiding over a funeral.
Friends are picking me up to get there...too many cars don’t fit at the end of the lugger!
I am grateful to those who have invited me . I shall be doing Sea Sunday in one of my favourite places! Alleluia!
