More packing!

I have managed quite well with the bad back., better than it looked yesterday morning.
The big suitcase is in David’s office and is being filled by virtue of the fact that I am using the stairlift put in for my husband when he was terribly ill.
It is not an attractive addition to the house but it does do the job when it’s needed!
I put it in expecting David to come from the care home. When he didn’t I chose to keep it in place...knowing that one day I’d need it.
Until yesterday I only used it for taking big or heavy things up and down the stairs...my suitcase, the washing basket etc...but yesterday it was me!
Gosh it made a difference...
In between sending things down the stairs I managed some lunch and today although the hips still hurt it’s very much better than it was earlier. I have tried to fathom what caused it but nothing comes to mind .
It has though given me time to sort out some bills.
Today I have to pay my gardener in advance for the weeks I’m away.
He has no bank account and I’ve counted out the money in twenty pound notes for the month ahead.
I think I’m covering everything needed.....
Yesterday gave me one good chuckle. I rang Cunard asking if I had in fact paid for everything....
The lady at the other end of the phone asked if I could swim.
I said I could. She laughed because I hadn’t paid for the last leg of the cruise...
"It’s a long swim" she said brightly.
All is now paid...... I am starting to look forward to my days at sea...
