This challenging week continues. The decorator has moved upstairs now. He is making excellent progress and I hope to say goodbye at the end of the week.
In the meanwhile finding my everyday items is a test everyday because they have all been moved....
It’s very cold outside now. I’ve actually walked the garden already. There has been that very rare thing in deepest Cornwall. Frost decorates the foliage beautifully.
Ending austerity seems to have been the object of yesterday’s budget and for that I’m glad...if it works......
Protestant guilt always assails me when I contemplate how difficult life must be for those with young families.
My only solace is remembering how hard up I was when my children were young.
I hope yesterday’s budget does actually help those people who are struggling.
We seem to have lived with austerity for a long time now.
Guilt for my habit of ordering on line is also sitting on my shoulders...
I haven’t been shopping in Truro for years . I am still using the supermarkets but they bring it to me rather than the other way round.
Being old with all the restrictions that brings is not hard for me...yet...I can cope with it all even though I grumble as I do it.
Making my decorator his first cuppa is the next job...he is doing a splendid job...
Tonight I am eating out again with a very old friend....rejoicing that the half term visitors seem to have gone home.
Staying quiet, brewing up and admiring the decorators work is my lot for the day....so I am not complaining... much.
