More small problems.

I was in my sitting room yesterday evening watching the television. The phone rang and a voice announced that she was standing at my front door.
The bell wasn’t working.
As I have an upside down house I had to go down the stairs to let my visitor in.
Today I have to check but I expect it’s a battery problem.
The remote control for my TV also needs new batteries.
Once again I am shaking my head in disbelief that so many things can go wrong in my odd world.
Today I will tackle it......another day, another problem to solve.
I have sent for new batteries for my TV remote...they should arrive today.
One of the bulbs in the hall has also given up...I am starting to feel yet again that "they" are all out to get me!
My visitor was not surprised that I had retired. I suspect she thought "bout time too" or words to that effect.
She had brought me lots of old post from my old house...most of which needed binning instantly.
I have changed my address on most things now so post that arrives fifteen years after I moved is clearly not urgent.
But this morning I will go through them all....just in case.
It’s been an odd week and I haven’t even started the Christmas countdown.
I have one card already but as it’s not even Advent it’s not up yet.
Trying to keep my life and house working properly is proving testing just now...but it’ll all be fine.....eventually.....God willing.
