World changes.

What a mess! We are now asking for a delay for our exit from Europe. Does anyone think it’s going to actually be any better after another week or two?
I keep hearing of the rise in the world of a new political movement. The extreme right wing!
What?
Those of us who were alive during the last war remember that we fought valiantly , lost loved ones, and lived through food shortages to fight an extreme fascist threat. Is it happening again?
I suppose us old ones who think we’ve seen everything already would be better keeping quiet.
But it is depressing.
The blame for these right wing beliefs is placed on the number of refugees we are faced with.
Those who live with their towns taken over by people who were not born here resent them.
I understand that but refugees have to go somewhere or die.
Many do die in the attempt to reach safety and in this country we have a natural barrier in the shape of the sea.
And yet still they come.
As Christians we are bound to help these people but often we end by resenting them.
I do understand this whilst being aware that living at the far end of the country I don’t see the actuality of immigration .
The sea means we don’t need a wall but America’s problem means that they do .
We live in perilous times.
I have lived through times of massive change.
Climate change may sort out the problems of this over populated planet.
Who knows?
The world we now live in has changed radically in a few short years.
Where now is a question I’d rather not know the answer to.
