Sleeping late the rain battering on my windows woke me up. Now the sun is shining.
It is April after all .
Over the last days several invitations to various events have arrived mostly by email.
All the proposals to interesting things have been wonderful. They are adventures I would have embarked on in the past but now I’m concerned.
The ageing process has rushed upon me during the last month. I have slowed down.
I’m not yet at a standstill but I can see a time....
Most of the suggestions have come from people of a similar age...
My generation is not giving up in a hurry.
A small irritation arrived yesterday from BT.
A long email arrived a couple of weeks ago. It was time to update my contract.
The number of add ons were bewildering...I finally rang them to speak to a real person who was helpful and pleasant.
I explained that I didn’t need all the services on offer....I just wanted to go on with what I’d already got....and that the overhead power line that shakes in bad weather couldn’t be trusted to deliver all the promised wonders anyway.
He sympathised and reassured me.
So yesterday my new SIM card arrived. In fact two turned up in the same post.
The instructions to place the cards in my device were deeply worrying....what on Earth was going on now?
I spoke to another person from BT. Her advice was to cut the cards in half and bin them. But to keep my eye on my bills.
Really the number of traps for the unwary proliferate daily.
It is now my aim not to fall into any of them...

I am glad that we are not with BT. Don't get such invitations from our telephone provider. It works. We pay end of story.
And as you are aware my broadband is via a mobile device and it also works without any hassle and cheaper than any service offered elsewhere. And no blandishments. It is up to me to ask for enhancements, not them.
You are in a much more civilised part of the country than me.....one pole with a very unstable line attached to my roof is all I have and am able to have... living in a beautiful place has its drawbacks.
This seems to be the only way I can communicate this morning...sorry....the dreaded password gremlin has struck! I will try to continue but right now it’s looking doubtful. The whole thing has been made unbearably complicated..thank you Google.
