What next?

I am tired but my friends all go home today so I will be able to stop all this enjoyable activity and get some rest.  I do enjoy seeing old chums,  I’m really not complaining and as we are all a similar age we  do know that we are all getting to a more restful period of our lives. But this non stop activity is very wearing.....we are still doing all the things we used to do forty years ago which is daft clearly...but at least I have opted out of going sailing every day.  Climbing on and off small boats is exhausting now. I prefer to sit on the wall and cheer them on from a distance!
One item of news this morning has cheered me up. Boris has now to operate with a majority of  one. This should hopefully keep him from some daft excesses....though I’m not convinced that he realises this just yet. It really is time for a general election...surely everyone in the country can see that, apart from the present government in the shape of an enthusiastic young man who having achieved his long term ambition can see it slowly slipping away by inches.  I don’t feel sorry for him but I have revised my opinion of  Teresa  May who clearly fought long and hard to try to prevent this mess. She was right to go I think but the mess she left behind just gets worse daily.   And this country approaches the gates of Brexit hell  with everyone worried about how it will affect them personally.  We just don’t know...
The sun shines here in Cornwall but elsewhere rain has caused huge damage . Villages are being evacuated to avoid flood damage at  home.  Not knowing what they will find when they go back they are in a terrible position.
We live in perilous times...all I can do is pray.
