So much still to do I’m afraid....every year I decide to start earlier but that resolve is forgotten till it’s already too late.... in the next few days I have a fairly full agenda....right now I’m confident that I can get it all done...including seeing several old friends socially before I leave to get onto the next cruise ship.
But this very odd election coming up is colouring our traditional viewing and reading .
So far I have several social arrangements fixed but most of my friends here understand that I have to get it all done before setting off on my travels again...
The best thing for me is seeing old friends or if that’s not possible a chat on the phone does the trick.
I don’t know how long I can keep the social interaction going but I can try...
The most depressing item of news is the speed at which measles is travelling...I hope that the people in this country who have elected out of having their children immunised will rethink that situation. It is a desperately awful disease .
I am up early with another bad back....obviously the result of sleeping badly last night with too many problems to sort out before leaving the village.
I am reasonably well organised until someone else decides its a good time to visit. Putting people off isn’t something I do very often but it is essential at the moment...
So I’m up, dressed and have already been outside to check that all is well.
Writing that I hear the clock chiming. It’s an ancient small but beautiful clock adorning my office. This week it has started to chime...it’s not going I don’t think...no ticking...just occasionally it’s bong is heard....I hope this doesn’t mean anything...but I’m not sure! Why after years of silence is it now joining in the Christmas chaos?
It’s all part of the pre holiday hysteria...I think. But I quite like the sound it makes.
So I need to get on, cards to write, friends to speak to etc....bong bong !
It sounded then right on cue! Oh dear!
