A local lunch!
I am now slightly worried by the number of bottles stored away. I am not in any way dependent on alcohol but I have clearly been taking no chances...I shall not run out! So this morning I have a new delivery. An enterprising local shop yesterday advertised a new deal ....a warm Cornish pasty with a bottle wine for lunch, delivered to your door. Naturally I support the locals as much as possible. But do I really need any more wine? I shall enjoy the newly baked pasty.. one of those at lunch time is sufficient for the whole day...
Self isolation is becoming interesting... but I have been awake during the night. This is unusual for me. I sleep well usually but a noise woke me up. It is best described as a ticking. Just over my bed....something ticked away. I put my light on and listened...there was no clue in the middle of the night as to it’s cause. It’s gone this morning...so unless it returns tonight I shall not worry about it. Outside it’s blowing and a little damp...but I shall go out later to view the area of roof over the tick. What with thst and the delivery of my hot lunch it is looking like an interesting day in some ways...I shall have to open the bottle clearly...there’s no room in any of my usual storage places. It will make for a different day....but I hope the ticking can be explained easily...I’m not in the mood for a mystery.

Do you have a roof alarm? Which could be just one of many possibilities?
Alternatively, this is the season for field mice coming into homes to have their families and finding things to nibble. If you look in your attic and find nibbled items, you might have the answer - and a humane trap should be the solution - paired with a small piece of chocolate of biscuit, will do the job. Mind you, as I found in our Church humane trap, four mice, you might have a whole family to contend with, not a lone mouse.
I hope you enjoy your pasty and wine lunch, because they sound devine.
Looking in my attic would need a step ladder and more energy than I have . Even my husband found it impossible. No roof alarm. I don’t even know what that is...I will just have to learn to live with it...unless I get a little man in...ahem!
