Boring stuff!
Another Monday on lockdown. So be it... my cleaner rang me yesterday to say she won’t be here...so my first job will be to get the vacuum cleaner out. That’s OK....without a dog there isn’t much to hoover up anyway, so I’ll put some washing on. The basket which holds the dirty clothes hasn’t got much in it. Being completely alone is proving OK. And I am aware that my iPad and phone are the life lines in this situation. Chatting to old friends is easy on line and not in any way dangerous. And I can still shop! On line shopping sounds good but yesterday I found the big snag. Boxes arriving have then got to be jumped on to get them taken away by the dustmen. This jumping took up a large part of yesterday. The cardboard boxes are quite hard to squash. I put them out late yesterday. Making sure they get taken away is the main job for today. It was hard work all that jumping and may well, stop my shopping this week. Looking ahead I’m afraid there’s nothing to look forward to at all. Even the good weather isn’t gladdening my heart. I don’t want any more skin cancer... Sorry chaps...I am moaning...and this is unusual for me. I need things to look forward to..
And just now there’s not much. Instead I am keeping my eye on all outside movement and we seem to have holiday makers around outside. I can’t imagine going to a beach but if you have booked your holiday it must make sense to take it if you can. A small boy staying next door got so frustrated yesterday that he took to throwing stones over a wall. i hope there was nothing on the receiving end. Boredom is the main ingredient of our present situation. But fortunately I’ve got used to being alone....and I’m getting very good at playing daft games on line. Thank goodness for the internet!

I am surprised that your home deliveries are still arriving in boxes. Here the supermarkets are delivering in plastic bags, left on the doorstep. They ring the bell and move sharply away.
Our neighbors who have been home shoppers from long before the pandemic are quite used to a bell ring, knowing they've got to bring the stuff inside with bags, much more manageable than two or three largish boxes.
It might be worth asking your supplier to do the same, they might charge for the bags, some do, some don't, but easily more recyclable than boxes.
As for your being isolated, it is something you are suited to. But listening to BBC news this morning, they are talking about running out of new programs quite soon, so we might have to have repeats? Nothing new there. But given the plethora of viewing, dependent upon your habits, there are hundreds of channels available, particularly if you subscribe to some of the digital channels. My spouse is queen of the rmote control, and finds her way around a dizzying number of channels to view what she wants to see.
And of course, if you are a news addict, there are also hundreds of channels to watch, even via the internet on your ipad. I have to admit I'd rather find something to watch with headphones on, via my large screen laptop, than some of the stuff on the TV screen. You Tube has hundreds of series to watch as well.
New programs are fine, but once watched, join the thousands of choices available because they will undoubtedly be repeated as they are sold globally to different networks, so you can view them online ins strange languages or subtitles, trying to guess who has dubbed it and how they've translated the original. Good fun.
Prayers continue for your health and wellbeing in lovely Cornwall.
