Self isolation.

Trying to keep an eye on my blogging day by day I am in danger of occasionally reproducing an old one....that’s what nearly happened this morning...only when I read it did I realise I’d already published it....so I apologise if I have already done it...or if it happens sometime in the future. Life here in rural Cornwall simply goes on...Yesterday I heard more traffic on the road than usual so I assume people are on the move again to some degree. The weather has tempted people out....it’s been almost summer here over the last weeks. Hearing from old friends up country I get no impression that they are intending to arrive here at any time soon. For me this means that I won’t see people I’m fond of but for many it means their income won’t be increased by the normal influx of visitors. This is serious for those who rely on the usual invasion . I suppose we are all waiting now....the reports of a possible vaccine seem to suggest that some help may be on its way...but this bug is a highly successful invader. It’s ability to remain in the bodies of people who seem to have recovered is worrying...I suppose a great deal of testing continues but just now it all feels pretty hopeless. Self isolating may not always work it seems. So on we go...but I shall be very glad to hear that we are all going back to normal....what ever that may be.... normal is different for us all. But here in rural Cornwall life goes on in much the same way as usual....but without the visitors... so be it....us humans are quite good at adapting to new circumstances. It’s the secret of our survival success. I hope it continues.. even life in solitary is still life!

Judging by the evidence in the media, many people are taking liberties with the limited freedoms given by the Government. Flocking in their hoards to sea side venues, particularly in the South and West, crowding onto beaches, ignoring the rules of social distancing and refusing to be held back from their pleasures and everyone can go hang"

A very selfish attitude to their own and families safety as well as that of others, if we get a new spike, it will be because of the government's free and easy way of lifting lockdown.

Sending children back to school on 1st June isn't popular, although some schools are ready, others are struggling to meet the social distancing requirements needed. Class sizes to be halved, teaching in corridors and gymns with teaching assistants pulled into to teach classes, as the teachers will be supervising. Shift work for some schools with half a cohort coming in for the morning shift and the other half after lunch. School dinners will be a nightmare, and parents with jobs will be run ragged getting their children to school, particularly if they have children at primary and secondary, on different shifts.

But, it is quiet here, no evidence of many going back to work just yet, my spouse has been told that they are looking at a full return from the first week in September, which will mean that she will have completed the mandatory 12 weeks of sheltering by the end of June and could start back in July, but getting a bonus of another two months on full pay.

Prayers continue for you in your isolation for peace of mind and well being.

@UKViewer...The people taking liberties will be the cause of a second spike. The lack of understanding from some people during this scary time has astounded me. Thankfully I live in a quiet village with very responsible neighbours.
