Quiet here!

No sun as yet outside this morning....for once that is actually good news. It has been hot out there this week. So far as I know we are still fairly quiet here. I have not heard of any bad behaviour on our beaches...and I can’t imagine that it could happen but we are approaching the peak holiday period. On a hot day it’s lovely to walk into the sea....something I’ve done frequently in the past so I do sympathise with the impulse but just one person doing it is different from big gangs as are reported elsewhere...So far I’ve not heard of any problems at all here...hopefully we are too far away for those people to arrive in numbers. The weekend is approaching so we will see. From here I can walk down to my nearest beach but it seems unlikely that I will. I have become decidedly anti social this week which surprises me as well as everyone else. I hear from friends that they are finding the joy of ordering stuff on line a Godsend at the moment. Cutting down the need to get into our cars can only be a good thing...Staying home for me is normal. If I need to chat there is always the phone...but I’m not doing that much either...lockdown seems to be working but I can understand how people feel like kicking over the traces at times....to assert out human needs for company , to do things with other people is normal. My period of self isolation is easy for me but I’ll be glad to see some of my summer friends again when they eventually start to get their boats into the water. From my bedroom window I see the huge cruise ship still sitting over in Falmouth. It shows no sign of moving..yet. But it’s hard to imagine anyone actually taking a cruise just now. So there’s not much good news anywhere! So I am just waiting....for what ever comes next!

Good that you are enjoying your isolation. We miss our friends and family, but are not hastening to end our seclusion. I am organising a virtual coffee morning via facebook for our members who come along. We get eight or ten joining in so it is a bit chatty and at least we get to see faces of some of our friends and dear ones.

That is as far as I will go. Went to the corner shop for a paper and straight home. Our refuse is collected this morning. The first one about 8 am, the 2nd one will be any time soon.

Highlights of the day to pop out and have a socially distanced conversation with the bin men.
