Waking a little later than usual I got out of bed to gaze across the sea....The World is still moored up safely in Falmouth....last night though she was once again partially lit up after at least a month of being totally dark. So there are people on board...presumably crew. Various people have told me all sorts of things about this ship...apparently they were very selective about who was allowed to join. But if people gave up permanent homes in order to cruise the world where are they now ? Are they still on board? It seems very unlikely. But as they were all apparently millionaires perhaps they are staying somewhere in Cornwall until it’s safe to resume their journeys. I admit to being very curious about all this...after all in this pandemic most news is miserable...whereas this is opening up new horizons on the travelling front. If by taking a taxi round to Falmouth I could get onto a cruise ship setting off to circumnavigate the world I might be very tempted....if I could afford it. But no....I am now grounded, possibly for ever. And there are much worse places to be grounded in. I live in the most beautiful place in the world I think. And I’m not bored or miserable. My hair has turned white in the last month. My skin condition is not good. I am ageing fast...but there’s nothing I can do about that and I quite like the silvery shine on what was my mousey hair. I’m not as bored as I probably sound...there’s lots to do here..but I have been watching more television than usual. I am aware of dangers lurking for the unwary....so I have made rules for myself to stay on the straight and narrow. I only start drinking after six o’clock....apart from Sunday lunch time when David always opened a bottle of claret. Claret being in short supply just now I am tackling the wine bin. I am confident that new supplies can still be ordered on line when needed....after all a girl needs a hobby! Life alone during this period could be dull but it’s not. There’s still lots to do....when I get round to it. Ahem!

I am not sure that ordering wine is a healthy hobby!
But you are quite right about living in a most beautiful part of Cornwall. If my spouse recovers sufficiently, we might well visit your part of the world in a year or so.
In the meantime, stay safe, stay well and stay put is the only advice I am able to offer.
If they can afford to pay 5-10 million for an apartment on the World Ship you can bet your bottom dollar they also have houses on land worth millions as well. It only accommodates 160 people. Some apartments are huge have three bedrooms and full size kitchens ..unlike a tourist cruise ship they don’t have entertainment and games it’s more like a floating apartment block for millionaires.
You are remarkably well informed. Thanks for sharing...
