MOT due!

Oh dear....just as I thought I was getting better I woke up this morning with a bright red itchy face! Trying to think what substance may have provoked this is mot getting me anywhere.. ..I don’t think I did anything different yesterday. But there it is...a face bright enough to startle the horses! Today being the day my car is going out people will assume that I’m going with it...but I won’t. The garage will come and take it in for me...I just hope that when I hand over the keys I don’t frighten the mechanic! A conversation I had yesterday with my friend in the next village reveals that she is being much braver than me...she has to drive past my house to get to her daughter and she seems to being doing it regularly. Anyway staying in self isolation has been my choice and looks set to continue. Anyone going past today will assume that I’m out but it’s my car that will be out not me. As always at this stage I start wondering if I need to get a new car and yesterday I spent some time looking at the information on the internet about electric cars. I am gathering from various people locally that it’s the time spent charging your car that’s the problem. And that doing it at home isn’t always possible without a great deal of expense. At my age thos may not be a good investment for the future....but I’m keeping an open mind on this one. So I won’t be out today...it’s just my car!

Given that you have to install a charging point, it would be a "one off" charge and given the rarity of you driving, it might be worthwhile effort as the car would be fully charged.

We are thinking about a hybrid one with the option of petrol and electric, and the petrol bit charges the electric bit as you drive. Still relatively friendly to the environment and gives you options to use petrol when needed.

But that will be when my spouse retires, not before. And we will get rid of the 2nd car at that stage.

I hope that your scarlet face subsides soon.
