New Normal?
From day to day I cant remember what I did to get my blog up and running...so it takes time and a certain amount of prayer..... its never the same way twice...and since this morning Ive found a page with a large orange square in the corner which sat "Publish" I am hoping this is it! I have no idea why everything keeps changing...but it does. Tonight for instance I have a grocery order booked. Why its not booked for during the day is a mystery I am unable to solve...but as long as the food and drink arrives all should be well. ....but trying to explain this to old friends is proving difficult. "No I cant come out tonight because I have got a delivery of essential supplies" isnt getting me anywhere right now. But I should be getting used to it. .... nothing feels normal. ..... apparently one of the local pubs is opening but everyone sits outside. This is fine in the summer but by winter could be difficult. Fingers crossed we will have reached a better place by that time. It is already much quieter outside...judging by the lack of traffic...people have started to go home. The school has opened again too I am told...so some normaity is emerging..thank goodness. ...no church services have been held for weeks but there are some very strange attempts at prayer to be found online..... they just make me either groan or laugh...either way they dont help! There is no way of knowing how long all this will go on but we are adapting...just about. Virus 10. Humans 2.

Our new normal is being able to attend services once again as Jen is becoming more independent day on day. Sheer hard work in exercising and reviewing the material left by her therapists is part of it. Her speech is vastly improved and the head speech therapist who visited yesterday congratulated her on her progress. The progress with swallowing was remarked on and she has new exercises to exercise the jaw and neck muscles to help it further.
So for Jen the new normal is waiting for reviews and an assessment about her ability to drive sometime soon at an NHS Drivability charity in Kent. Paid for by her as our Gp refused to refer her at this stage. We have a meeting with the GP in the coming week to discuss our worries about their care for her prior to her stroke following her second bout of pneumonia last year. It is clear that there were missed opportunities to treat her high blood pressure which led to the stroke.
