Friends!

Friends are wonderful. I am full of gratititude for the lady who arrived here yesterday ready to sort out all my problems. The fact that we both failed is certainly not her fault...so on I go but during the complications of yesterday she saved me from feeling much worse than i actually did. Today another old friend is coming to help... he has no idea of just whats involved but the fact that he is willing to try is wonderful. So to anyone else out there please be aware that Apple has made their latest ipad almost impossible to mend on your own if like me you have pressed the wrong button at the wrong time . The fact that people are willing to spend their time trying is something I am very grateful for. I shall not be buying another ipad..my old ones will do! An ipad enables me to sit up in bed in the morning to answer my emails and start the day easily. So I wont be getting rid of my old ones but neither will I buy another. The frustration is too extreme! But the good thing is all the help I have had. To say that I am grateful is an understatement. And keeping this blog going has become important in a way it never was before...Its the way old friends keep track of me. So I thank God for all of them ...you know who you are!

Good morning Jean, indeed friends are wonderful. I hope whatever requires fixing gets fixed today!
The weather is miserable here today so I guess I’ll need to tackle the housework as I have a friend coming for coffee tomorrow
It’s a shame the iPad is still an issue, perhaps the young man who helped will be able to fix it when the new cable arrives.

I come a little late to this post. I hope that the person who came was able to sort out your unfortunate ipad.

I am more than ever convinced, that I will never be an Apple fan. Overpriced and the way that they bind you to their support system, is certainly not good customer service.

I suspect that as you live in Cornwall, it is some distance to any support available locally without travelling for miles to access it. Here in the South East our local high street has a place that advertises that it is an Apple Service point, whatever that means. They also do microsoft and google machines as well. When I was doing a chaplaincy placement some years ago, I went in and they were very friendly, but also making the point that they are reliant in the main on Apple Service Centre for most of the work that they do.

If I go to Curry's (other computer shops are available) they seem knowledgeable about Apple products but also Microsoft. They sent away a laptop I still had warranty on to their service centre and it came back with a new screen and keyboard, without any charge. So, quite reliable.

I hope that you continue to receive visitors sparingly, so that you don't become to unsettled in your isolation.
