A visit to the doctor!
Having been awake for a couple of hours I am shortly going to get up to drive to the next village to have my blood pressure taken. Oh dear. There have been times in my life when this has been a hazard. Several times I have been taken straight to hospital after a very high reading. Now, in old age it seldom gets so high that its dangerous. But it still needs checking. I dont mind driving to the surgery over there...it is actually next door to where I used to live and I always know the other people in the waiting room. I shall wear my mask...of course but the whole episode is actually going to raise my blood pressure . So I am treating this as something I have to do occasionally even if it is a bit of a nuisance. And afterwards I can look at the interesting shops...ahem! Even the small villages have very interesting shops to tempt the visitors so I always enjoy looking at them and get tempted myself from time to time so this makes a trip to the doctor a pleasure mostly. However last year I found myself in a crowded room where avoiding those coughing was my main purpose.
So up I get now..... ready to be tested! But hopefully not to be coughed at. Fingers crossed. Especially as I lost most of this for a while posting now...fingers rossed!

Lovely to hear that you managed to be out and about with friends and having a good time. Life as it used to be and might be, sometime in the future. News today is about the possibility of a vaccine being available as early as January, it won't solve all of the problems and I think that social distancing and face masks and the rule of six might be with us for some time to come, because vaccinating 60 million people will take a while, probably well into 2021. And bhy the time they finish, they might have to start giving booster jabs.
I am enjoying being back in church, I will be preaching on Sunday and on the mid-week service, feeling that even socially distanced and masked, a tiny bit of normal is returning.
But we have been moved into tier 2 of the alert state from midnight tonight, so a socially distanced coffee morning with the rule of six is to take place this morning at a local bistro, as we won't be able to do it next week.
This is the issue with all of this, the closing down of socialisation, even in Church, we have to come and go quietly. But as soon as people get out of the door onto the pavement, we all at least can have brief, socially distanced conversations with each other.
Please take care, as I will today and every day.
Good morning Jean, hope the trip to the doctor goes smoothly. You will no doubt find they have a good system in place which will mean you won’t be with too many people. Hope your blood pressure is ok, and perhaps they may give you your flu vaccination while you are there!! May be worth asking 😊. Nothing ventured ... etc! 😊
Enjoy your trip, out. I’m venturing out today to a local town which I haven’t been to since March. I just feel the need to get out whilst I can and before we find ourselves more restricted.
Take care.
