A good life!
Here we are again...another Monday! Nothing I thought I had planned for last week actually happened. My cleaner did arrive and stayed long enough to have a coffee with me before going again. Various things I had ordered for Christmas came twice...which is obviously my fault in some way but I now have enough Christmas cake etc to last till next year! Eating festive food in June may be over rated! Despite small glitches all is fine with me. The phone got well used over the weekend so Ive caught up with several old friends... in some cases...very old friends. I am touched by people I know well trying to make me feel better during this weird time. I have reassured them that I am not miserable...just leading my normal life mostly. I find myself checking the fridge fairly frequently to make sure that I have enough before going on line to order stuff again. I really dont want to over order...I have friends who have stuff in their fridges they may never get round to eating! I am still going away for Christmas providing the local hotel can stay open during this trying period. I must phone them this week to check their intentions! The man I see most often, my gardener remains cheerful. He grins when I invite him into the house so we can talk in the warm instead of sitting outside. Although I only actually see two people during the week I have other people on the phone. I dont feel lonely...this life is much the same as my normal one and I am sorry if i have said all this before...but its true! Life remains good! Different but good!

I actually got onto the blog on the day of publication.
You are in a routine, which suits you at the moment, but I had wondered whether you would actually go away for Christmas, and I am reassured that this is still your intention. Hopefully, if you stay in tier 1, you should be okay, even in tier 2, hotels can stay open. And Cornwall seems fairly good at the moment, with low infection rates.
And it appears unlikely you will get lots of Christmas visitors as most will be coming from higher tiers, meaning they probably will be advised not to travel outside their tiers.
I am having to travel to a tier 3 site for medical reasons next month, and this is permitted. But I can't travel to see my SD later in the month as he is sheltering (he is in his mid eighties) and vulnerable due to heart problems. His Son is in Oxford, and his daughter is in Dubai as a teacher. So, he won't be expecting any family this Christmas. But he going to ring me on the day we were due to meet so will have a SD conference over the phone. The thing that I will miss is lunch. His hospitality is legendary and we always share lunch when we meet, whether at home or in town. He also still officiates at the Cathedral and around the diocese occasionally where he is well known and welcomed. I last met him in March, just before lockdown and I really miss the monthly visits, particularly as we often go to the Cathedral if he is taking a service and a mass in one of the crypt chapels is wonderful.
