Democracy?

Nothing much to report here. Life goes on in much the same same way...but elsewhere it is a different prospect. The extraordinary events in the USA are definately not a normal way of government. Mr Trump was beaten apparently. The vote went against him but he is now failing to abide by the vote. He seems to be digging in...unwilling to give up his job. The concept of democracy seems to have evaded him. Lets hope this notion stays across the pond. Unless you are prepared to accept the result of a vote even if it goes against you then we are in a whole new area. I think in this country we have always regarded Mr Trump with some suspicion as well as amusement. There is no point in holding a vote if you are not prepared to accept the result. Democracy works but only if you obey the basic rule..one person , one vote...and the largest number of votes cast wins. Simple. but Mr Trump seems unwilling to obey this notion. Its easier this morning to talk about whats happening across the pond than think about the dismal way of living now we are all living in isolation. Or trying to. Its easy for me...I am already used to living alone...so my way of coping is to chat to my lost loved ones....they dont answer back...but I am used to that. But hearing the news daily is a major part of my life..and keeping my eye on what is going on in America is very interesting. Will Mr Trump stay in post? Or will democracy win?

Good morning Jean. Mr Trumps’s reluctance to play by the rules is quite disconcerting and we can only hope that he will be persuaded to accept the result of the election. He has always wanted to do things his way, so let’s hope he doesn’t cause any damage between now and January.
