Up late! !
At almost ten in the morning I am only just up! I was awake for most of the night worrying over small details before falling asleep. The details are still there but outside the sun is shining and I have walked around my garden before doing anything else for the sheer glory out there. Parts of my garden think its Spring. New shoots are pushing up all over the place and I think I agree....there is a Springlike feeling in the air. This wont last of course...realism is already taking over...but just for a few golden moments it felt good again. Some time ago I set myself the task of reorganising my office which is very cluttered indeed. Piles of paper sit in untidy heaps...there is method in how to pick the correct heap for any loose items but then I just get fed up with it...and give up , shrugging my shoulders as I go. In this chaos which is world wide right now whilst we try to fight the virus keeping my bit of the world tidy seems self indulgent! What does it matter if I put an old sermon in with a new post. No one else but me is going to want to find it! As Christmas appears over the horizon I yesterday counted my piles of cards that arrived a week or so ago. I think there are enogh...and I will start writing them soon...well...eventually...As the entire human race is under threat right now it seems only reasonable to fight back a little if only by keeping as good a Christmas as possible. As this will be the first Christmas I have spent in this country for years it seems only fair to try to make a proper job of it. Or at least try!

We have done only those Christmas Cards we now consider essential to friends and family, we have ruthlessly culled our address book of those we never hear from, they might even had died? With Jen who used to love writing cards, since her stroke, hand writing is difficult for her, so I printed out address labels for her. But from sending dozens, we are down to about 2 dosen.
Are you still going to stay at a hotel over Christmas? Because it looks that hospitality might still be open? But who knows what the government will do, it all seems up in the air, due to increasing infections.
