No Action!
Well yesterday didnt quite happen. Everything outside is still in place! It looked good early yesterday morning when they all turned up but gradually one at a time all the men disappeared! I am hoping for better today...well! I have been out to the sound of the cock crowing. It is all still in place! Yesterday I was assured it was all going to happen...but then they all melted away! The scaffolding is still in place too. So I am hoping for better today after some harsh words have been spoken. Its very quiet outside...no wind, no people as yet! Promises made yesterday have already been broken. A neighbour arrived in the afternoon to walk around it all with me. He thought getting everything down was going to be difficult and so they are putting it off! I really dont know now....I just want it all to go back to as near normal as possible. The fact that they will want paying may galvanise them into some action....eventually! This is starting to depress me now. So I have to try very hard not to expect anything....just let it all happen...hopefully! But one thing I do know...I will not write anymore cheques until its all finished properly... So there! Childish I know...sorry but its the way I am feeling at the moment. This entire episode has left a very bad taste in my mouth! Its enough to turn a girl to drink!

Good morning Jean.
How disappointing for you. I know from experience that getting scaffolding taken down can be a nightmare. I had some up when the house was being painted. The painter finished the job and said the scaffolders would take the scaffolding down ‘soon’. Weeks went by and I eventually let the company know that I was about to charge them for leaving it on my premises. They soon arrived!
And you should definitely not pay up until the work is completed to your satisfaction.
Hope there’s some positive news tomorrow.
Take care.
Good advice from Martha's Sister.
Getting scaffolding down does take time - much longer than you may think.
Hopefully everything else has been finished satisfactorily and the scaffolding will be down by Easter.
Out scaffolders arrived at 8 am and were gone by 8.45. Having taken the scaffold down. I am not waiting for our builder to arrive for the final snagging work and a roof survey in case the scaffold has damaged any of the tiles. But hopefully, by the end of the day, we will have paid him and will wish him bon voyage until the next time we need him.
