Staying home!

It is Sunday and its pouring down. Any thought I might have had on going over to the next village to join one of their services has now gone! A longish walk along the lugger would have been great but not if I get wet through in the process...so here I stay...doing my own thing has become normal now! And I mostly dont mind...I have got used to being alone which is not the same thing as lonliness. It is very quiet outside....no vehicles are moving...no people either...they cant all be spending Sunday in bed. What is coming through though are very many sales Emails...I am being exhorted to buy shoes, rain coats, warm jumpers....stuff for the house ....because though we are spending Sunday at home we can still shop! I have sung a couple of hymns by joining in with the radio which didnt make me feel any better at all and I am now enjoying a prolonged sneezng fit..I have checked my fridge and theres plenty to eat in there! And more is on order for next week. Home deliveries are saving me fromm going out which may not be a good thing all the time but on days like today it feels good to know I dont have to get my wellies on! So another quiet Sunday beckons...and thats OK....I can do this..mostly because I have to. So now of course the rain has stopped and some sun is breaking through..but I am not tempted..staying quietly at home looks like the best bet...so far!

Good morning Jean. I hope the rain has kept away and you have been able to enjoy your garden
A bright sunny start here but now clouding over.
I was leading the Pentecost service at a little village chapel today. The parallels between us in this lockdown world and the disciples shut behind closed doors needing the empowerment of the Spirit to give them the courage to go out into a potentially hostile world wasn’t lost on us in these strange times!

Today is Pentecost. This morning we had the normal service with quite a full church, we didn't get to do the procession and hymn outside due to the weather, during the service the weather cleared and we could have arranged it after the service, but by this time people are itching to get home for their lunch.

I know you are isolation isn't natural, but you have little choice, and upto now, venturing out might be risky. The one resolution we have made is to stay put this year, no foreign holidays, not even a stay elsewhere in the UK, but hopefully next year will be easier.
