Dull.

Everything is fine. I tell myself that several times a day. And it is fine mostly...until something silly happens .... at some stage during last week I sent for some food ...nothing exciting...but in packets to keep in the fridge to last a while. It duly arrived and just now its not tempting at all but I have put it into the back of the fridge in case i get hungry. And thats one of the problems...I am not at all hungry because I am not working at anything. Life has become very very quiet, very dull, very boring really. I do watch TV most evenings to find out whats going on in the rest of the world. but its still dull. And I know I should be glad that its dull, it means nothing dreadful is happening! So its not bad! Logic can be misleading! Its busy this morning on the road and I have realised that its Saturday...when last weeks visitors depart to be replaced by this weeks! And so its dull! I have friends keeping in touch...and we are all in the same boat...Life is dull but that, we are all agreed is a good thing. Its much better than rushing around...looking for problems that may not exist! I should be glad of some company at times but even that sentence only tells a half truth...some people would not be good company....so I may be better off on my own! So be it...and Im sorry if the blog is dull. ...its a true reflection of the life around me though...dull.

Good morning Jean.
Glad to hear the fridge has food in it and hopefully it will be tasty when you do get around to feeling hungry enough to eat it.
I was chatting to an old friend on the phone yesterday and we were saying that we are becoming used to a slower pace of life- and don’t want to return to being frantic and rushing around.
The rain has stopped here and it looks like there’s a patch of blue sky now ☀️
Enjoy the rest of your peaceful day.

I had the same trouble with my TV remote control and BT ended up sending me two new ones, both of which were the same, working only intermittently, which is not much help. I tried an old trick that
my neighbour told me about and the first time, when it was just the actual TV that stopped working, I did the remedy which he told me to
do, this can be tried with any electrical appliance. That is, unplug
the TV or other item, leave it for a few minutes and plug it back in.
This certainly worked for my TV, but sadly not my remote control. It
now still just works intermittently and so I just persevere. I do not
know why it does not always work. If ever you have something that does
not work, try the unplugging, it may well work, like my TV did.

My TV lost all sound but not pictures. I found the simple solution was a loose lead. But our TV is about 15 years old, made by a Japanese company and has lasted well, but we are thinking that it is time to replace it. The trouble is all these modern appliances are "smart" and need a degree in computer science to work them.

So, I am looking for something a little bit simpler, hopefully with buttons to push and a slider to change channels, a bit like the seventies ones we had from Radio Rentals in the day. I will probably need to go to a tip for one.
