Lancashire Roses!
OK....I am sorry if this is getting boring. But nothing much is happening! I suppose thats good really! I was stopped in my tracks this morning on my way around the garden. . A sight of great beauty caught my eye as I strolled around . Several years ago I put in a new rose. It was bright red and was called the rose of Lancashire! This morning its beauty stopped me in my tracks. At least a hundred red roses glowed brightly! Gosh they looked wonderful! I resisted the urge to bring some inside to put in a vase. They look amazing staying whete they are! Strangely there are no white roses anywhere around. The part of me that is still a Lancashire girl rejoices at the sight! I told you nothing much was happening....thats the reason for me going all geographical...I think! Its better than my going historicle. The war of the Roses was a very long time ago and the only time its remembered is when Lancashire plays Yorkshire at cricket. That brings out the geographical worst of us., even people like me who know very little about cricket can get carried away if we look like winning! I am not sure whete we are in the current situation but I can still support Lancs if they need it! Come on you reds! Or words to that extent!

Good morning Jean. Your rose sounds fabulous!
Does it have a scent?
I’m afraid some heavy overnight storms have battered my roses and some of them are looking very sorry for themselves this morning.
I’m afraid the rose does not have a scent...unless it’s my nose which is not working well!
I have now had an email telling me that I blogged the same thing last year! also it appears that the same lady commented last year too. When I spoke to her it appears she not only reads the blog but often posts comments...though not in her own name apparently..I will have to think about this...she remembers better than I do what I’ve written previously!
I for one do not remember you blogging about those Roses before, but off course, I meay has missed an update or two, although I had no reason last year not to have read the blog daily.
But a wonderful experience (even if it is a repeat). I can remember my delight a couple of months ago, having been to an Abbey Ruins locally and seeing thousand of Blue Bells there in the woodland, not landscaped wild as a visitor attraction. Than a day or two later three blue bells opened up in a large garden pot in our garden, we had no idea they were there, perhaps wind sown perhaps, but now I can look forward to them having seeded themselves appeared there once, repeating the experience again.
So, your delight in the colour of the Roses is understandable.
