Nostalgia.

Old friends are arriving and some are calling in to see me. I have laughed more in the last couple of days than for some time. Laughter is good for us I think. And theres been a lot to laugh about! Some old friends are making plans for us all to go out at the weekend....to the pub mostly and thats very good too. Remembering old times and people now gone gives me time to consider . Another couple of very old friends have popped in and some meals out planned. I am not sure how you eat wearing a mask but that is whats specified so I am prepared to give it a go! These are people I have known for a very long time. We all trust each other and some bring messages from other old friends....this is the time in the year when we all used to arrive and enjoy each others company! Some are missing and I fear have succumbed to the virus though the details of their passing are few! But despite that its good to talk over old events and remember our lost loved ones..the number of those is growing too. But September was always the best month down here....warm still and not quite so busy as it is in August! Getting the boats ready to come out of the water is always tinged with sadness...we all knew that it could be the the last time even then. Not having a boat any more means I am available to help if needed...and I often am...but its a time for nostagia as well as laughter..thank you God! Missing people once close is part of growing old. But the ones left tend to look after each other...we go back a long way!
