Lost post.

There are steps from my kitchen going down to the back door. Following the laying of flag stones outside the door this area floods during really bad rain.
I asked a builder to sort this out for me last year. I haven't seen him since.
As it's not a big problem I haven't chased him.
I wish I had.
My cleaner had found a pile of letters and magazines rather damp when she arrived before I got home.
I have waited for it to dry out but some single letters are unreadable.
I can only hope there was nothing really important in that bunch.
It is a new excuse for inaction though...
If I didn't read anything important I can't be blamed for inaction!
It has though made me very glad to have wifi....
Really important stuff arrives by email these days...mostly.
Several brochure, heavy catalogues, travel information, it's all drying out nicely...
I have got my heating on to help with the drying out process but some letters are unreadable.
If any of these are from readers of this blog I apologise....
I may be saying sorry rather a lot over the next weeks...
I do have to to sort this problem out before the next time the house is empty!
But in the interim what an excuse!
"Sorry I didn't get that letter!"
I could build on this....damp brochures, soggy tax returns, wet rotas.....all unreadable!
It could be worse!

You can compost the damp paper.

Sounds like the new paving is higher than your damp course. Builder needs to sort it urgently!
(Got a bit of it here but not nearly so serious - just a tiny damp spot in the conservatory)
