Fake news?
Another week of fake news....according to Mr Trump. The use of the word "fake" is interesting in that it has come to mean anything that Trump doesn't like.
He is reportedly very uncomfortable with the presses assessment of him and his government...which is why periodically he has to hold a giant rally to bolster his ego.
No one needs this mass adulation more than he does.
The way he is systematically trying to repeal or replace anything left in place by his predecessor shows a narrow view of care which is startling in its determination to eradicate the last Presidents legacy.
This whole period has got me twittering again...the level of hatred directed at the president as he tweets is startling but compelling.
Calls for his removal from office appear every day. Impeaching him is made to look easy and whole organisations have appeared recently to achieve this aim.
The video of Trump throwing rolls of paper towels into the crowd appears regularly as he apparently thinks it a good idea to help those who have lost everything in hurricanes and storms....just what the homeless needed obviously, a roll of clean paper!
It's good fun but very depressing to remember that this man has power...yesterday's threat in veiled terms has been analysed fully...
"This is the calm before the storm" What storm is the question asked! It conjured up yet again the anxiety about his war of words with North Korea.
The chances are that there is no storm...it's just another dramatic declaration designed to enhance the presidents flagging reputation.
No one could be bored by any of this but it does come with its anxieties.
Heaven help a world where the finger on a nuclear button belongs to a man absorbed in his own publicity...

Trump has shown himself to be a blustering bully, who stamps his feet when he doesn't get his way. This era of populism, appealing to the worst instincts in the electorate sound reminiscent of NAZI Germany in the 1930's, and his attempts to silence the media, betray his instinctive defensive stance, when he hears the truth, and denies it, calling it fake news.
How on earth, did a known molester of women become President of the USA, only though manipulation, lies and plain invective, true or untrue, against his opposition. The destruction of Hilary Clinton, by fair means or foul are asymptomatic of his style and culture. I would say evil, but that doesn't accurately describe him. He is the Devil incarnate. with a finger on the button of world destruction.
Mr Trump continues to denigrate any one who dares to disagree with him. Not a Senior Republican Senator (Head of the Foreign Affairs committee in the Senate) had described the White House as a Care Home, where the attendants have taken the day off. He has accused Mr Trump of being a war monger and seeking to cause WW3. Trump typically has sought to destroy his reputation, only to be rebutted even more robustly.
Surely, Trump has given enough evidence to seek his impeachment? Or at least to have a full assessment of his Mental Stability and Fitness to be President of the largest Armed Camp in the World.
I see that some are now calling for the USA to be called a Rogue State due to it's performance both nationally (guns) and internationally but it's interventionist policies, which bring death and destruction in an indiscriminate way to smaller, vulnerable nations.
Perhaps the UN needs to intervene?
