Phishing again!

Another day, another scam...I think.
Fairly late last night I got an email entitled "in app Validation. "
It said that something had been bought by me using a new device. This apparently led them to believe that it had been bought by someone else.
I had to cancel this purchase in order to get my money back.
The amount Involved came to almost a hundred dollars.
In order to cancel this I had to put in my iTunes password.
Well....I stopped at that point.
If I gave my password to anyone they would have access to all sorts of things including my money!
I stopped dead at that thought.
Then I sent the mail off to Apples phishing site.
This was a fairly literate email...with only one spelling mistake...
I checked my bank account....no money had been taken out to pay for the purchase.
So I will continue to check but I’m fairly sure it was yet another scam.
It would have been so easy late at night to oblige them with my iTunes password...
Take care everyone...they really are out to get us!

While Apple says it's virus free, Apple customers seem to be favourites for scams, because using Apple products seems to indicate an amount of wealth, given their pricing strategy.

As a poor Microsoft user, I rarely get scams, and my email filter is pretty good at filtering them out.

I'm glad that you saw the trap that they set for you and didn't respond.
